Filemaker using .NET on their Bento site, huh?

Out of curiosity, thanks to daring fireball’s mention, I decided to download the trial for Bento. Unfortunately, I noticed something really weird about the site… check out the URL:

Why would an Apple-owned company EVER chose to use .NET technologies to promote their product? Furthermore, how could Apple ever allow an Apple-owned product to be served up on a Windows Server? I am guessing it’s built by a third-party agency… who should be fired.

Howto: Fix a Corrupted iPhone SMS Conversation

So far, I have had a very pleasant experience owning my iphone. I have experienced almost zero issues with it. Happiness stated and neatly filed away, I have experienced one pretty serious issue annoyance. I tried txting my friend Mary and got an error stating, “Error Sending Message”. No matter what I did, I could not txt Mary. It appears the sms/chat log with my friend (and just this one friend, not all of my txts) was corrupted.

The good news is, I have discovered a very easy fix for this. Select the user you are having difficulty sending an SMS to. Simply hit “Clear” on the top-right of your sms chat window, this will completely delete your sms-log for the selected user! If you’re ok with this, confirm clearing the action by tapping “Clear Conversation”. You should now be able to txt your contact without an error.

300+ New Features

Apple has released a list of the 300+ new features. Of particular interest, besides the obvious improvements in finder and the features already being covered in the media, is the new Terminal, which features tabbed command line windows. Sweet jeebus.

Workflow Improvements: Mid-Day MiniDock

As I mentioned this morning, I’m trying out a really minimal dock. I’m following up, showing how great it is to have almost all the items in there are JUST what I’m using, no fluff. My sights are set on the System Prefs… thinking about removing that next! Here it is, mid-day, amidst a flurry of work/projects/stuff:

Workflow Improvements: Streamlining the Dock for use with Quicksilver

Every few months, I like to re-evaluate my desktop workspace or method of workflow and try to take a stab at refining/improving it. Last week, I decided to completely re-organize my dock. Now I have a teeny tiny dock with only the very essential apps in there - only really what I would require for drag n drop. The rest (like mail or adium) are always launched w/ Quicksilver for ultra-instant gratification… no need to have those apps wasting space in my dock while they’re not being used. Since it’s small enough, I have moved it to the left of the screen, out of vertical-design space. Here’s my new super-minimal dock:
